🎉 Blaugust 2024 Day 1: An Introduction

Hi! I’m Kerri and this is my first year participating in Blaugust. Why is that? I’m not sure. I guess I’ve just been too afraid to commit, haha. I’ve never been good with introductions, but here we go!

I’ve been blogging in one form or another since around 2000. My first blog, if it can be called that, was on Open Diary, which is now defunct. After that, I moved to Blogger, then LiveJournal, then Wordpress, where I remained for quite a while. Now, in 2024, I’m using Bear Blog, which is an absolutely lovely indie blogging site.

My blog, known as “And So It Goes…” is just a collection of…well, things. And yes, that’s a nod to Kurt Vonnegut and “Slaughterhouse Five.” I talk about writing, about memories, about things that happen to pop into my head. I also share recipes from time to time. My posts for Blaugust will be about a number of different things, rather than one topic.

A little about me: I work as a copywriter for a company that sells professional audio, video, and lighting equipment. I’m also a creative writer, and am working on my second book (none are published yet). I’m an avid reader, sometimes reading up to three books a week, though that’s not a regular thing.

I love video games and play quite a bit on Xbox and Switch. Cozy games are my jam, but I also love open-world games. Right now, I’m working my way through Starfield while also playing Elder Scrolls Online and Diablo IV. I recently picked up College Football ‘25 and am excited to dive into that one as well.

Other interests include digital art, crocheting, hiking, and adventures with my dachshunds, Rolo and Finn.
